ETSU softball made a strong case early on that they could steal a win in each of their two games at rival Chattanooga on Friday by scoring first - but it was to no avail for the Bucs who remain winless in conference play.

Despite taking first-inning leads in each game, the Bucs came up short as the Mocs took game one 9-1 in six innings and capped off the sweep with a 13-1 five-inning victory in game two.

It was a day where Chattanooga's bats came hot - combining for 23 hits and five extra base hits between the two games.

Taylor Suchy (0-8) started game one with Gabrielle Fowler pitching the final 1.2 innings out of the bull pen. Whitley Arnott (2-3) started in the circle in game two with Kendall Thackston pitching the last 2.1 frames.

The loss keeps the Bucs out of the win column in the SoCon once again, falling to (0-5) in conference play and (5-21) overall.

The final game of the three game series is set for Saturday at 1 pm.
