The ETSU softball team suffered a loss at the hands of their rivals, Chattanooga, on Saturday, resulting in a sweep.

The Mocs picked up where they left off after Friday's doubleheader, scoring seven runs in the first inning, which they maintained until the end of the game to win the series.

During the first inning, an error from the Buccaneers prolonged the frame, and the Mocs scored four unearned runs following the miscue.

Chattanooga added a solo run in the second inning and scored its final two runs in the third inning, resulting in a run-rule victory.

Brylee Mesusan and Emily Musco were the only Buccaneer players to register hits, each posting two.

With the setback, ETSU's overall record is now 5-22, and their SoCon play record is 0-6. On the other hand, Chattanooga's record improved to 24-8, 6-0.

The Bucs will return to the diamond on Tuesday afternoon to host Gardner-Webb in a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
