There is nothing like some big time softball on a weekend in the SEC - and starting Friday, a pair of heavyweight teams will meet in Knoxville.

The No. 6 Lady Vols (28-5, 8-1 SEC) are set to host the No. 3 team in the nation in the Georgia Bulldogs (30-6, 6-3 SEC).

Heading into the weekend, despite Georgia holding the higher ranking, the Vols sits atop the SEC standings after opening league play with eight straight victories – marking the best start to conference action in program history. The Lady Vols also own a 17-game home-winning streak entering the weekend.

It wasn't May sweeps but the month of March was very good for the Lady Vols. Tennessee went 20-1 during March with a 12-0 mark at home and an 8-1 record on the road. Tennessee won 20 straight games in March and outscored its opponents 148-21. With series sweeps of then-No. 11 Missouri and then-No. 23 South Carolina, followed by wins over Auburn in games one and two of last weekend's series, Tennessee started conference play 8-0 for the first time in program history.
