Tennessee Lady Vols softball is coming off of a series win in Starkville where they had to climb out of an opening game loss to Mississippi State and steak two back over the weekend.

The Vols remain at No. 4 in the country - now awaiting a big meeting with No. 7 and SEC foe LSU for a three-game series, starting Friday in Knoxville.

While the team is sitting in almost the same position they were at this time last season that ultimately ended in a trip to the Women's College World Series, the Vols are working on continuing to carry their own identity without worrying about comparing themselves to last season.

"They have done a good job of continuing our identity this year. You look at where we are now to last year, we're in roughly the same place going into these last three weeks," said Karen Weekly. "For me it's all about how you take all that noise and turn it into a benefit for you and act on that challenge and view the pressure as a privilege. Let's just go after it. Whatever happens, happens."

Vols and Tigers are set for first pitch at 6:00 pm in Rocky Top on Friday night.
