Where Tennessee Basketball targets are ranked in the NCAA Transfer Portal

Tennessee Basketball is looking to fill five open scholarship spots after signing its first prospect out of the NCAA Transfer Portal last week, in Hofstra wing Darlinstone Dubar. The Vols have hosted four transfers on official visits, including Dubar, Belmont wing Cade Tyson, Charlotte forward Igor Milicic and Ohio State center Felix Okpara.

Here’s a look where Tennessee’s targets rank in the NCAA Transfer Portal according to the On3 Industry Ranking, with their rankings in the On3 ratings in parenthesis:

No. 23 Cade Tyson (56)

The 6-foot-7, 205-pound wing from Monroe, N.C., averaged 16.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 0.9 steals in 31.6 minutes per game at Belmont this season, starting all 31 games. He shot 49.3% from the field and 46.5% on 172 attempts from the 3-point line. As a freshman last season he averaged 13.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 0.9 assists in 29.1 minutes per game, starting 28 times in 30 games. Tyson visited Tennessee on April 13 and visited North Carolina over the weekend.

No. 44 Darlinstone Dubar (42)

Dubar, who committed to Tennessee last Monday and signed with the Vols on Thursday, spent the last three seasons at Hofstra after playing his first season at Iowa State. Dubar averaged a career-high 17.8 points per game in 33 games this season, shooting 53.9% from the floor and 39.9% from the 3-point line. He also averaged 6.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 34.6 minutes per game. Dubar averaged 10.3 points per game last season and 11.7 two years ago, shooting a career-high 68.4% from the field in 2021-22 and 40.4% from the 3-point line in 2022-23. 

No. 72 Igor Milicic (88)

The 6-foot-10, 225-pound junior averaged 12.8 points and 8.5 rebounds this season with the 49ers, shooting 48.7% from the field and 37.6% from the 3-point line. Milicic started his career at Virginia before transferring to Charlotte after the 2021-22 season. He entered the transfer portal on March 25. 

No. 76 Felix Okpara (27)

The 6-foot-11, 220-pound forward averaged 6.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.4 blocks this season and averaged 5.3 points and 5.0 rebounds over the last two years. He started 34 times in 35 games this season, averaging 23.5 minutes per game, after starting 11 times in 34 games as a freshman, averaging 15.5 minutes. Okpara shot 58.6% from the field in his 70 games with the Buckeyes.
