St. George's will play for the Division II-A championship Friday while Briarcrest takes a shot at the DII-AA crown.

Brenlin Mullaney scored the winning goal in the 72nd minute of play as St. George's advanced to the Division 2-A state championship game, 2-1 over Christ Presbyterian Academy Thursday at the Siegel Soccer Complex in Murfreesboro.

Emma Bennett's unassisted goal had put the Gryphons (13-6-1) ahead 1-0 midway through the first half before CPA tied it in the second half through Mollyanne Thorne. Mullaney's winner came on an assist from Madison Bishop.

St. George's opponent Friday at 4 p.m. will be Chattanooga Christian, which ended ECS' season with a 3-0 victory in the other semifinal. The Gryphons will be after their fourth championship overall and first since 2013.

Briarcrest will also be going for the gold as Peyton Moore scored in the first half and Sarina Diebenow in the second to defeat Chattanooga Girls Preparatory School, 2-0.

The Saints (14-2-2) will face Chattanooga Baylor at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Their only other championship came two years ago.
