Knoxville area top high school football playoff games of Round 2

Fulton (9-2) at Catholic (8-3)

Two high-powered offenses meet in this 5A matchup. Dashon Bussell accounted for three of Catholic's touchdowns last week, one each rushing, passing and on a kickoff return. Xavier Malone threw for 230 yards and a touchdown in Fulton's win over Lenoir City.

Farragut (9-2) at Maryville (10-1)

Both bring dynamic rushers into this 6A matchup. Isaiah Gibbs leads Farragut with 96 yards per game, while Isaiah Cobb leads Maryville with 84 yards. Farragut pulled away from Cleveland in the fourth quarter last week, while Maryville shut out Bearden.

West (9-2) at Oak Ridge (7-4)

Two tight defenses meet in this 5A matchup. Oak Ridge has only allowed 15 points per game. West has given up 14 and Tyrece Edwards has 11.5 sacks. Oak Ridge had the edge in the regular season with a 23-13 win.

South-Doyle (6-5) at Halls (6-5)

Mason Brang led South-Doyle to win a over Tennessee High, throwing for 263 yards and three touchdowns. Cooper Cook ran for 160 yards and three touchdowns to lead Halls over David Crockett. South-Doyle won the regular-season matchup 44-6.

Kingston (8-3) at Alcoa (9-2)

Kingston and Alcoa won big in Round 1, putting up 49 and 55 points, respectively. Alcoa has the tighter defense between the two teams, allowing 12 points a game versus 20, and won the regular-season matchup 42-14.

Grace Christian (7-4) at Notre Dame (9-1)

Grace Christian is led by Luke Kirby's 265 passing yards and Cody Estep's 73 rushing yards per game. The Rams fell to Notre Dame 35-27 in the regular season.

Central (6-5) at Sevier Co. (6-5)

Sevier County won the regular-season matchup 20-7 in Week 3. That game was Central's first with freshman quarterback Luke Ferguson. Since then, Central has gone 6-2.

Webb (7-3) at CPA (9-2)

Both bring strong rushing offenses to this II-AA matchup. Elijah Howard racked up 170 all-purpose yards — four carries for 64 yards, a 45-yard touchdown reception and two kick returns for 61 yards — in Webb’s win last week. Kane Patterson leads CPA's rush attack with 90 yards a game.

Elizabethton (9-2) at Anderson Co. (11-0)

This 4A matchup could be a battle between strong passers. Elizabethton's Carter Everette averages 239 passing yards and three touchdowns per game. Stanton Martin averages 266 yards and four touchdowns for Anderson County.

Austin-East (9-2) at Johnson Co. (11-0)

Austin-East brings a three-headed rushing game to this 3A matchup. Jahson Jackson, Jazine Pelcher and Chris Hunter each average more than 40 yards per game. Johnson County beat Northview Academy by one point last week.
