Update 1/4/2019: 10 months since my last stroke! Fatigue and walking are even more of a problem. Sciatica in both legs, and doctors understandably not wanting to operate on my back, is contributing now to my difficulty walking. But, it is what it is and I am able to work on CoachT.com, which I still enjoy doing, but can't attend games.

Update 10/5/2018: 7 months since my last stroke! Fatigue and walking still a problem. Katie's August 4th wedding went great and I was able to walk her down the aisle.

Update 7/15/2018: latest blood test shows no APS so the cause of my strokes is back up in the air. We hope that the carotid stent I had implanted back in February is now preventing any further strokes. I get a little better every day with weakness and trouble walking still my main concern. Numerous doctor visits upcoming.
-------------------------
The latest word on why I had 6 strokes is an autoimmune disease called
antiphospholipid syndrome, also known as Hughes Syndrome. I will be on blood thinners and other medications for life.
My biggest problems now are extreme fatigue and "brain fog". Combined with that is left arm and leg weakness caused by the strokes. I have several doctor appointments coming up and a return visit to the Mayo Clinic in late August.
There is no pity party going on here, though. Compared to a lot of people I know I am doing fine. When you are 66 years old, things happen.
I am working everyday to improve with tremendous help from my wife, Elaine. We have a wedding coming up in early August and I plan to walk Katie down the aisle.
