Upper school classes participated in the food drive with classes competing against each other. Packing the food for delivery are Kamil Malone, Marshall Gray, faculty sponsor Jane Winfield and Caroline Lee.

Brentwood Academy sophomores Katherine Wright and Alicia Adlerz got up close and personal with a penguin at the Georgia Aquarium during the school’s recent Winterim. As a part of the Winterim program, a group of students visited the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, the Tennessee Aquarium and a sting ray exhibit at Opry Mills. These students also spent the night “under water” at the Georgia Aquarium, with special guides showing them behind the scenes activities that keep the Georgia Aquarium running smoothly.

The home is part of the 1997 Jimmy Carter Work Project where in one week 156 homes will be built in Tennessee and Kentucky. In eight days, over 500 Brentwood Academy students and parent volunteered in building the home where Laverne Holland will live with her children.

Melton had never tried to break the 2-inch thick board before, but carried it during demos. Melton said he had never seen one broken, except by Bruce Lee on film. "I really felt the Lord was here and the power was there and the audience was very accepting of what I was saying," Melton said.
