. Montgomery County produced several state champions on the individual and team side.

Here are the 2018 All Area boys and girls track and field teams combined.

GIRLS RUNNING EVENTS

First team

Calandra Henry

Northeast

100 meters

Why chosen: Henry captured first place in the Montgomery County Championships, the sub-sectionial and sectional races. She finished third at state with a time of 12.1 seconds.

Northeast's Calandra Henry took third place overall in the TSSAA State Track and Field Championship's 100-meter race during Spring Fling in May.

Why chosen: Henry duplicated her 100-meter feat in the 200 in the sub-sectionial and sectional and took third again in the 200 at state in a time of 24.7 seconds.

A'siara Nakasone

Northeast

400 meters

Why chosen: Nakasone took first in the County Championship and sub-sectional meet and finished fifth at sectional. She had a season-best time of 1:00.19.

Rayven Thomasson

Northeast

100 hurdles

Why chosen: Thomasson took second in the sub-sectional but finished as the sectional champion. She placed eighth at state. She had a season-best time of 15.13 seconds.

Why chosen: Thomasson finished first in the County Championship and sub-sectional  meet. She took eighth at state. Her best time this spring was 46.5.

Why chosen: Martin finished in first place in much of the regular season and was the county champion with a season-best 2:33.18.

Why chosen: Martin dominated the field of Montgomery County runners in the 1,600 races with a season-best time of 5:30.09. She finished first at the sub-sectional meet.

Why chosen: She continued to dominate in the 3,200 with a best time of 11:36.89, which was tops among Clarksville area runners. She finished first at the sub-sectional meet.

4x100 meter relay

Why chosen: The Lady Eagles captured the county championship and were champs at the sub-sectional and sectional meets. They finished as the state Class AAA champs and set a school record of 48.66 seconds.

4x200 meter relay

Why chosen: Rossview captured the county championship and was first at sub-section with a 1:45.16 time. Rossview finished 10th at state.

Northeast

4x400 meter relay

Why chosen: Northeast captured first place in both the County Championships and sub-sectional while finishing eighth at the state. Their season-best time was 4:05.42.

4x800 meter relay

Why chosen: The Lady Eagles took first in the County Championships and were a sectional qualifier. They had a season-best time of 10:37.63.

Why chosen: Hicks captured first place in the Montgomery County Championships. She threw a season-best 31 feet, 7 inches.

Natalya Bryant

Long jump

Why chosen: Bryant was the champion in the county meet and at the sub-sectional and finished in sixth at sectional. Her best jump was 16 feet, 3 inches.

Anisah Garrett

Northeast

Triple jump

Why chosen: Garrett placed first at the County Championships and sub-sectional and took third place at the sectional. She finished 14th at state. Her best jump was 32 feet, 11 inches.

Rayven Thomasson

Northeast

High jump

Why chosen: She jumped 5-2 for a county meet title. She took fourth at sub-section and ninth at sectional.

Tatiyanna Terry

Why chosen: Terry had the best throwing distance in Montgomery County this season at 99-9.

Why vhosen: Dorthalina finished first at the County Championships at 8 feet and was a subsectional qualifier.

Why chosen: Despite missing the final few regular-season meets, Shufford captured first at the sub-sectional and sectional and won the Class AAA state title in the 100 in a school-record 10.49 seconds.

Why chosen: Shufford followed up his state title in the 100 with a state runner-up finish in the 200 after running a school-record time of 21.33 seconds. 

Jordan Worner

400 meters

Why chosen: Worner finished runner-up in the sectional meet and took 11th overall at state in the 400 in 49.9 seconds.

Jake Alexander

Northwest

110 hurdles

Why chosen: Alexander took first place at the sub-sectional and duplicated the feat at the sectional. He finished sixth at state in 14.7 seconds.

Why chosen: Woller finished second in the 800 at the sub-sectional in 2:01.58 and took fifth in the sectional meet.

Why chosen: Woller was consistently the best 1,600-meter runner in Montgomery County, capturing the county championship in 4:40.40.

Why chosen: Norris qualified for the Division II-A state meet in the 3,200 where he finished fourth overall in 10:25.42.

Why chosen: Rossview captured the state title in the 4x100 in 42.11 seconds. The Hawks also captured the sectional title and took third at the sub-sectional.

Why chosen: Kenwood captured first place in the sub-sectional and sectional meets and finished fourth at state in 1:29.88.

Why chosen: The Cougars relay team captured the Division II-A state championship in the 4x400 in 3:26.46.

Why chosen: The Hawks captured first place at the sub-sectional, took third at the sectional and finished in 10th place at state in 8:29.16.

Why chosen: Ross captured titles in the sub-sectional and sectional meets and finished third overall at state with a jump of 46 feet, 5 inches.

Why chosen: Montgomery took first at the sub-sectional, fifth at the sectional and finished tied for eighth at state with a height of 6 feet, 2 inches.

Why Chosen: Butler took third at sub-section with a throw of 43 feet, 10 inches and finished ninth at the sectional meet.

Why chosen: Jackson took the sub-sectional title in the discus with a throw of 139 feet, 11 inches and finished fifth at the sectional.
