BLUFF CITY, Tenn. – She’s Back.

Five years after stepping down after an ultra-successful 17-year run at Sullivan Central, Tracy Graybeal will patrolling the high school volleyball sidelines this fall.

Sullivan East Athletic Director John Dyer confirmed on Monday that Graybeal will be introduced as the Lady Patriots new volleyball coach in a press conference in the school’s cafeteria Tuesday afternoon.

Graybeal took the Lady Cougars to three TSSAA Class A-AA State Volleyball Tournaments (2001, 2002, 2004), including a semi-final appearance in 2001.

After stepping down at Central, Graybeal also switched to a teaching position at Bluff City Middle School, where she also served as an assistant softball coach.

When former coach Anthony Todt stepped down, Graybeal decided to apply for the position.

“I was unsure about it, but I prayed about it and decided to apply and here we are,” said Graybeal.

The coach stands to inherit a talented and experience squad that will feature six seniors, a talented junior setter as well as several promising newcomers.

“I already knew a lot of the kids and I think the world of them,” added Graybeal. “We have a lot of work to do in a short time, but the girls are excited and so am I.”

TriCitiesSports.com will have more on Graybeal’s hiring following today’s press conference.
