Quarterback Bryce Wallace said he plans to transfer from Marshall County to Giles County.

Marshall County quarterback Bryce Wallace confirmed to The Tennessean on Wednesday night he plans to transfer to Giles County, where his brother, Bo Wallace, won a Class 4A state title in 2009.

Bo Wallace went on to play quarterback at Ole Miss and was Marshall County's quarterbacks coach in 2016, coaching his younger brother during his sophomore season when he threw for 2,870 yards with 31 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Bo Wallace has been named Giles County's offensive coordinator, replacing assistant Rip Flippo, Bobcats coach David O'Connor said.

"I just wanted to be with my brother, honestly," Bryce said

O'Connor said Wednesday night that Bryce has not yet enrolled at Giles County. To be eligible this season, the family would have to have to move into Giles County's school district.

Marshall County football coach Thomas Osteen did not return a text message asking for comment.

TSSAA executive director Bernard Childress said coaches cannot submit eligibility information to the high school association until after the third day of practice in pads.

"We wouldn't get a transfer form on them until after Wednesday of next week," Childress said. "If that transfer form is denied, then it's up to the school's administration if they want to apply for a hardship."

Bryce threw for 1,780 yards with 17 touchdowns and four interceptions at Marshall County in 2017. That reduction of production corresponded with the emergence of running back Kamron Liggett, who rushed for 1,834 yards.
