‘Toppers, Lady ‘Toppers Dominate at Johnson City Country Club

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- Science Hill golfers recorded the low seven rounds of the day in a dominant team performance victory over David Crockett, Volunteer and Unicoi County Monday at the Johnson City Country Club.
Ross Boehling’s one-under-par 35 led the way, followed by Gavin Nickels’ even-round 36. Carter Counts posted a 37 and Jackson Skeen a 38 to tally Science Hill’s winning two-over 146 total.
The rest of the ‘Topper field including a 39 from Tarun Hokere, a 40 by Sean Anderson and Hendrix Price’s 42.
Volunteer was a distant second, some 53 shots off the pace. Tyler Evans led the Falcons with a 44. David Crockett finished third and Unicoi County fourth. The Pioneers got a 47 from Seth Bible and the ‘Devils a 47 from Brett Lingerfelt.
Lillian Qin shot a 41 to earn medalist honors for the Lady ‘Toppers. Grace Smith’s 53 gave Science Hill a team score of 94, seven shots clear of David Crockett. Volunteer was third, four back of the Lady Pioneers.
