Dickson, Creek Wood honor Baker
The Dickson County and Creek Wood football teams honored Sgt. Daniel Baker prior to their season opener Friday at Dickson County High School.
Baker, 32, was shot and killed in May during a call to check on a suspicious vehicle, officials said. Steven Wiggins and Erika Castro-Miles are charged with first-degree murder in his death.
The two teams presented Baker's wife Lisa and their daughter Meredith June with a commemorative jersey featuring a Dickson County orange No. 9 and a Creek Wood red No. 5 on it.
The No. 95 jersey represents Baker's badge number. Baker's name was written in royal blue to represent law enforcement.
District Attorney General Ray Crouch Jr. said his office will seek the death penalty for the defendants.
