CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – (ESPN CLARKSVILLE) Clarksville High defeated Rossview 35-17 in week one of the high school football season in one of the biggest rivalries in Clarksville to take the Warfield Shield.

On the opening drive, the Wildcats drove down the field and jumped on the board with a Josh Watch touchdown. Rossview answers back when Nick Harbor connects with Kayden Miller to tie the game at 7-7.

In one of the last plays of the half, Quantee Hicks snags a ball in the back of the end zone to give CHS a 21-10 lead going into halftime.

During halftime, Rossview’s Baseball and Track State Champions were presented with their state championship rings.

In the second half, Rossview’s Layton Kuzio blocked a punt and runs it in for a defensive touchdown, cutting the lead to 17-21.

CHS’s Michael Kennedy caught a pass from Ford to score a 69 yard touchdown. It was all Clarksville High from there, with a 35-17 final score.
