The Teddy Pettigrew era got off to a wining start on Friday as Milan beat Humboldt 62-6.

The Bulldogs played deep into their bench, so no one player had big numbers offensively, but senior Dylan Mayberry was all over the field.

Mayberry scored three touchdowns, and the three touchdowns came three different ways.

He scored one on a blocked punt returned for a touchdown. And one on a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown.

His third touchdown was a rushing touchdown, as he had four carries for 58 yards. He also had one reception for 24 yards.

Milan takes a step up in competition in Week 2 as the Bulldogs host rival Peabody on Friday at 7 p.m.
