Forget about any thoughts that this might be a reloading year for Tennessee high school football powerhouse Brentwood Academy.

The Eagles, who have won three straight state championships in the state's largest Division II classification, rolled to their 24th consecutive win on Friday. Brentwood Academy held Chattanooga Baylor to just 71 total yards in a 35-7 road win.

Tomario Pleasant had 159 rushing yards on 15 carries to pace the Eagles ground game, which has been key this season after the graduation of current Vanderbilt freshmen Cam Johnson and Gavin Schoenwald.

The win streak is currently the second longest in the state. Lausanne has the longest at 33 games after a 42-34 win over Evangelical Christian.

Brentwood Academy (7-0, 3-0 in DII-AAA East/Middle) is ranked No. 1 in the Tennessee Super 25 poll, a statewide ranking of the top 25 teams in the state regardless of classification.

Tigers back on track

Ensworth improved to 2-1 in Division II-AAA play entering next week's home game with rival Montgomery Bell Academy after beating Father Ryan 35-10 behind the ground game of Keshawn Lawrence and Toleo Malone.

Lawrence, a four-star prospect at corner back with offers that include Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia and Tennessee, had a team-high 114 rushing yards with two TDs on just nine carries. Malone added two fourth quarter scores.

Ensworth (5-2, 2-1 DII-AAA East/Middle) is currently tied with McCallie (6-1, 2-1) for third in league play. MBA (6-1, 3-0) is tied with Brentwood Academy for first.

Cornersville shutouts reach 6

Cornersville is making a strong case for being a Class 1A state title contender after the Bulldogs' latest shutout victory.

Cornersville routed Fayetteville 55-0 for its sixth straight shutout win. No opponent has scored on the Bulldogs (7-0) since their 41-20 win over Cascade to open the season.  Cornersville, which finished Class 1A runner-up a year ago, has outscored its opponents 337-20 this season.

Waverly's Stanfield, Eagleville's Cobb rack up big nights

Last year's Class 2A Mr. Football Gavin Stanfield, a Waverly senior quarterback, showed he should be considered for the award again. But that doesn't mean he won't get strong competition from Mr. Football semifinalist Ethan Cobb, an Eagleville senior.

Stanfield threw for 296 yards and had 90 yards rushing while finishing with five total touchdowns in a 48-27 win from Riverside. Cobb also had five total TDs in a 49-20 win over Richland. Cobb threw for 139 yards and ran for 109 yards.
