South’s Townsend, Elizabethton’s Goodsell Share Three Rivers Conference Volleyball Player of the Year Award

Sullivan South’s Maddie Townsend and Elizabethton’s Sydney Goodsell shared top honors on the 2018 All-Three Rivers Conference Volleyball team announced Monday morning by the league.
Townsend and Goodsell were selected co-Players of the Year. For Townsend, an Emory & Henry commit, it was a second straight Player of the Year Award.
The conference, district and regional champion Lady Rebels, who went on to finish 5th in the state, landed two of the seven top honors spots as senior Meredith St. Clair was named co-Setter of the Year.
Conference and district runner-up Elizabethton also landed two spots as Goodsell was joined by co-Setter of the Year Morgan Smith.
Sullivan Central had two top honorees as well with co-Setter of the Year Laiken Hoback and co-Defensive Player of the Year Maci Cloninger. Lady Cougar coach Logan Kemp was also named as Coach of the Year.
Sullivan East senior Sydney Byrd earned Hitter of the Year accolades.
