Haywood's Deyondrius Hines passes the ball off to Haywood's Decourtney Reed in a TSSAA football game between University School of Jackson (USJ) and Haywood County High School at Haywood High School Stadium in Brownsville, Tenn., on Friday, Aug. 31, 2018.

This Friday's game between Haywood and Ripley has been moved from Haywood to Jackson Christian and their new turf field.

Safety was the main reason for the switch. Rain has been prevalent the last few weeks and the field has taken its fair share of wear and tear due to the six home games the Tomcats have played on it this season season.

"This decision was made because of the safety and to ensure that both teams can play the best game they can play on a good surface," Haywood head coach Steve Hookfin said. "We've had a lot of rain so it was great by Jackson Christian to make the best decision for all of the young people involved.

"Take athletics out of it and I think it's a great testament to Jackson Christian for helping us and making the best possible decision for all of these young players."

Kickoff for the game is still set for 7 p.m.
