It's BlueCross Bowl week for two Williamson County high school football programs.

Battle Ground Academy and Brentwood Academy each reached their respective state championship games. BGA plays CPA in the Division II-AA championship while Brentwood Academy plays Memphis University School in the DII-AAA title game.

Here is a look at both matchups. All games will be played at Tennessee Tech's Tucker Stadium in Cookeville.

BGA (11-2) vs. CPA (13-0)

When: 3 p.m. Friday

BGA lost 31-20 in the first meeting in what was the first of consecutive losses for the Wildcats. However, BGA has won seven straight since and scored 40 or more points in four of those games.

BGA must get on track early in the rematch to win its first state championship since 2003. The Wildcats trailed 24-14 at halftime to the Lions in their Sept. 14 contest.

Quarterback Nick Semptimphelter was 22 of 31 passing for 261 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Tiy Reed had five catches for 94 yards. However, the Wildcats' ground game managed just 96 yards.

Defensively, the Wildcats must slow down a CPA attack that averages 421 yards a game. CPA quarterback Ryan Eledge has thrown for 2,142 yards with 27 touchdowns and three interceptions.

Brentwood Academy (10-2) vs. MUS (11-0)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Brentwood Academy joins Alcoa (in Division I, Class 3A) as one of two programs in search of a fourth straight championship this weekend. Either would be the first since Ensworth won four straight from 2010-13.

However, the Eagles enter the BlueCross Bowl as the underdog this year after finishing third in the DII-AAA East/Middle Region. MUS features DII-AAA Mr. Football Maurice Hampton. However, the Eagles' two losses are by a combined five points.
