Memphis lost one of its commitments for its 2019 recruiting class when three-star athlete Gyasi Mattison decommitted Tuesday morning.

Mattison, a wide receiver/defensive back from Hillsboro High School in Nasvhille, committed to Memphis in September but did not sign with the Tigers during the early signing period last week.

Mattison's high school teammate Joseph Honeysucker, a three-star defensive end/linebacker, signed with the Tigers last Wednesday. The Tigers signed a total of 15 players.

Memphis coach Mike Norvell said Thursday that his staff actually received 16 letters of intent but one recruit wanted to wait to announce his decision on National Signing Day on February 6

Norvell added that seven signees will be enrolling early in January. Tight end Drew Martin, offensive lineman Matt Dale, defensive backs John Broussard and Gabe Rogers, defensive linemen Everitt Cunningham and Wardalis Ducksworth and linebacker Cole Mashburn.
