Why chosen: In his first season, Ferguson led the Lady Buccaneers to a 16-7-1 record along with the program’s first state title, winning Class AA. Beech, which struggled to a 1-6 start, won 15 of its final 18, including a 3-2 overtime win over Seymour in the state title match.
