All-PrepXtra girls soccer team for 2018

The first eight members of the Knox News All-PrepXtra girls soccer first team are nominees for the girls soccer player of the year. The winner will be announced May 29 at the third annual Knox News Sports Awards presented by Farm Bureau Health Plans.

Abby Brewer, Bearden

Position: Forward

Why chosen: Brewer was named District 2-AAA MVP and also was all-region and all-state with 28 goals and nine assists.

Position: Midfielder

Why chosen: Carlevato was named District 2-AAA midfielder of the year, and was also named all-Region and all-state with 10 goals and 14 assists.

Position: Defender

Why chosen: The Samford signee was named District 4-AAA defensive player of the year and scored nine goals with 13 assists.

Why chosen: O'Brien was named the District 3-AAA co-midfielder of the year and was also named all-region with nine goals and 16 assists.

Why chosen: The Lipscomb signee led District 4-AAA with 28 goals. She also had five assists and was named the Region 2-6A player of the year.

Why chosen: Reid was named all-district and all-region and helped Maryville post 15 shutouts and only allow 12 goals all season.

Why chosen: The Chattanooga signee was named District 4-AAA MVP with 13 goals and 19 assists.

Why chosen: Wolski was her team's leading scorer and was responsible for almost half of her team's 99 goals with 44 of her own.

Why chosen: Janoyan was named the District 4-AA defensive player of the year and helped Catholic reach 12 shutouts.
