Notre Dame Boys, Baylor Girls Win Region Bowling Title

The Baylor girls' bowling team won the region championship with a 21-6 semifinal win over Webb and a narrow 14-13 win over GPS for the title. Baylor, 9-2, advances to the state tournament on Friday and Saturday.

Notre Dame boys defeated McCallie for the region championship 17-11.

Abby McNamara and Mya McGee will also be bowling in the individual state tournament which begins Thursday and wraps on Friday.

McNamara qualified with a 141.65 season average and McGee averaged 137.61.

The Baylor boys fell to McCallie 19-8 and were eliminated in the semifinal round, ending the Raiders' season at 4-7. Dalton Chuba will represent Baylor in the individual state tournament, qualifying with a 181.63 average.

Baylor Girls 21, Webb 6. Individual state qualifier Abby McNamara and Colette McMahon won three games each to lead Baylor in a 21-6 win over Webb in the semifinal match. McNamara rolled the high game for the Raiders while McMahon the next three highest games, 157, 156, and 154, to help Baylor to its 2355-2211 total pin fall advantage.

Baylor Girls 14, GPS 13. Individual state qualifier Mya McGee posted three wins for Baylor in a narrow 14-13 win over GPS in the championship match. The Raiders won despite losing total pin fall by 13 pins, 2497-2484. Abby McNamara posted the high game for Baylor, a 184 in game three.

McCallie 19, Baylor Boys 8. Individual state qualifier Dalton Chuba rolled games of 215 and 201 for the Baylor boys in a 19-8 loss to McCallie to end the Raiders' season with a record of 4-7. Gehrig Ebel also broke 200, rolling a 212 in game three. McCallie took total pin fall 2937-2877.
