Notre Dame High School won the East Region, finishing ahead of McCallie, at Divisioin II state bowling in Smyrna on Thursday.
In Division I, Rhea County won for Region 3 over Bradley Central.
McCallie School bowlers Andrew Haun and Jet Hieronymus each advanced to the championship round of the Division II Boys State Bowling Individual Tournament.
Haun, a sophomore, recorded a four-game total of 885, two pins behind Notre Dame sophomore C.J.
Petrin for the No. 3 spot. Haun scored a 264, a 209 and a 230 in the second, third and fourth games respectively. The 264 was a tournament high.
Hieronymus, a junior, stands fourth with 844 total pins, including a game-two score of 222 and a game-four 227.
The top six bowlers advance to Friday's championship rounds which begins at 10 a.m. ET.
Friendship Christian's Dalton Karstens leads the field with 890 total pins.
Notre Dame and McCallie as well as Rhea County and Bradley Central qualified for the team portion of the state tournament.
McCallie faces Pope John Paul II Friday at 1 p.m. ET in the team quarterfinals.
