Stewarts Creek's Madison Henegar was voted area girls athlete of the week for Jan. 14-19.

Henegar received 2,057 (52 percent) of the 3,896 girls votes while Cannon County's Jessie Kauffman collected 1,369 (35 percent) votes.

Henegar ombined for 31 points in two Lady Red Hawk wins. Kauffman also scored 31 in two games, including 21 in a win over Watertown.

Other nominees included Eagleville's Lizzy Thompson and Makayla Moates, Oakland's Sydney Blankenship and Nicole Egeruoh and Riverdale's Acacia Hayes.

The poll closed Thursday morning.
