A pair of Tennessee High wrestlers will return to Bristol as state champions.
The senior duo of Dillon Pendley and Dominic Fields captured state titles in their weight classes at the TSSAA state wrestling championships that concluded on Saturday in Franklin.
Pendley, one of just four Tennessee High wrestlers to win four Region 1-AAA titles, added his first state title, finishing the Class AAA meet with a 5-0 record, defeating Cameron Henderson of Smyrna in the 138-pound finals.
Pendley, who finished with a school record 215 wins, earned a 7-3 decision over the top-seeded Henderson.
Fields, who won the state title at 145 pounds last season, won the 160-pound weight class this time, finishing 5-0 as well, defeating Josh Pietarila of Hardin Valley 5-1 in the finals.
Another Tennessee High senior, Logan Ferguson, finished third in the 152-pound weight class. Ferguson won the consolation finals match when Jalen Brown of Blackman couldn’t compete due to a medical issue.
