FCS handles Columbia Academy —

PORTLAND — Mt. Juliet improved to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in District 9-AAA with a 15-1 road win over Portland Tuesday, March 19.

The Golden Bears pounded out 16 hits and took advantage of four PHS errors in the five-inning affair.

Mt. Juliet opened the game with six runs in the top of the first, then added five in the second and four more in the third.

The trio of Dylan Kasper, Nelson Bukland and Grayson Cole each had two hits and drove in two runs for the winners.

Sam Simonson (1-0) worked five innings for the decision. Simonson allowed three hits, walked one and struck out four.

The return game in the series is planned for 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Juliet.

Friendship Christian 8, Columbia Academy 3

LEBANON — Justin Seagraves drove in three runs with a double and Camden Hayslip added a triple and a single Tuesday as Friendship Christian School topped visiting Columbia Academy 8-3.

With the win, the Commanders moved to 4-1 headed into a pair of home games Friday, March 23 in the Wilson County Invitational.

FCS will play Trousdale County at 5 p.m. followed by a 6:30 p.m. game versus Greenbrier.

Friendship Christian broke open a 3-3 game with three runs in the bottom of the fourth, then tacked on two more runs in the fifth.

Braden Reece started and worked 6.2 innings for the decision. The senior gave up five hits, struck out seven and walked one.

Brenden Schwab and Josh Folkerts finished up the seventh with Folkerts recording the final out with the bases loaded to earn a save.

Station Camp 12, Lebanon 0

LEBANON — Station Camp took advantage of 12 Lebanon errors in Tuesday’s 12-0 run-rule win over the Blue Devils Tuesday at Brent Foster Field.

Bison lefty Ryan Ginter didn’t need much help as the Vanderbilt commitment allowed just one hit — a ringing single to center by Luke Bradshaw — and struck out seven.

He walked one and faced just one batter above the minimum.

Lebanon (3-3 / 0-1 District 9-AAA) trailed 2-0 after three, then committed seven errors in the top of the fourth, allowing Station Camp to score 10 runs.

Brady Chappell started for LHS and was tagged with the loss. Chappell worked three innings ot two-hit ball, struck out five and walked four.

LHS is scheduled to play at Station Camp Wednesday at 7 p.m. to complete the District 9-AAA two-game series.

Wilson Central 7, Gallatin 2

GLADEVILLE — Cole Ferguson doubled and drove in three runs in the bottom of the third inning in Wilson Central’s 7-2 District 9-AAA victory over Gallatin Tuesday.

With the win, the Wildcats improved to 3-2 on the season and will visit Gallatin Municipal Park’s Alexander Field to take on the Green Wave tonight at 7 p.m.

Wilson Central overcame four errors and took advantage of 10 walks by Green wave pitchers.

Gabe Jennings, Matthew Jenkinson, McKane Everett and Jackson Odette all had singles for WCHS.

Jenkinson started and went six innings on the mound for the decision. He scattered seven hits, struck out five and walked one. Gary Denton worked the seventh, allowing one hit and striking out one.
