Clarksville High's Emberly Nichols captured the athlete of the week award in Clarksville for the week of April 8-13.

Nichols finished with 2,092 total votes. More than 3,500 votes were cast this week. She finished with 59.2% of those votes after a stellar week last week.

Clarksville High's infield gathers in the pitcher's circle after securing an out against Henry County during their District 10-AAA softball tournament championship Saturday.

Nichols earned her first career save, striking out three batters against Northeast last week. Against West Creek, she earned her first win while tossing a no-hitter and striking out 11. She also hit her first career home run in that game, a grand slam.
