Head coach Janet Tate recently announced two additions to the volleyball team at Chattanooga State. Accepting offers to play for the Lady Tigers in the upcoming season are Gordon Lee’s Delaney Bridges and DaMonique Givens from Hardin Valley Academy.
Bridges has played volleyball for 8 years. While at Gordon Lee, her team played in the final four of state championship. Her accolades include 2018 Best of Preps Volleyball Team, 2018 All State Team in the A/AA Region, 2018 Region Volleyball Player of the Year (A), 2018 Named Captain on Gordon Lee High School Volleyball team, 2017 Walker-Catoosa County Dream Volleyball Team (Second Team), and 2016 Honorable Mentions in Volleyball.
She also played Anthem United Club Team. In addition, she is a member of Key Club, logging 100 hours of community service so far, N.H.S. (National Honors Society), H.O.S.A. (Health occupational students of America), and FCCLA (Family Career Community and Leaders of America). She is an outstanding student maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Also, she is an active member of Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church.
Givens has played volleyball for both Hardin Valley and Club Unite Volleyball teams. In athletics, her and her volleyball teams have gone to nationals, state, as well as won multiple tournaments across the southern states. She is a member of National Art Honors Society. In addition, she has been involved in her high school musical production of Hairspray and High School Musical. Over the years, she has excelled her skills in painting, drawing, and chorus. Givens will attend Chattanooga State Community College to further her career in studio art, as well as continue her volleyball career.
