The third seed East Ridge Pioneers won a dramatic penalty kick shootout Tuesday night at Red Bank in the semifinals of the District 8-AA semifinals.
Red Bank's Ohene Boateng scored in the first half and East Ridge's Zhubin Salih scored in the second half send the game to two 10 minute overtime periods. The teams played through two golden goal five minute overtimes before moving to penalty kicks. East Ridge won the pks 4-3.
East Ridge keeper Tranquilino Calel Tzun had five saves in the game and two key saves in pks.
Howard won their semifinal game on Tuesday with a 3-0 win over Hixson.
East Ridge and Howard will meet Thursday night at the UTC Intramural Fields at 7 p.m. for the district championship.
