Dresden football coach Levi Estes is stepping down to take a job at Lassiter High in Marietta, Ga., he announced Wednesday.

“I had an opportunity at a larger school in Georgia open up, and it is a good move for my family,” Estes said. “It was a bittersweet moment today, but I am excited about the new journey in mine and my wife’s life.”

Lassiter plays in Class 7A, Georgia's largest class.

Estes had been at Dresden for the past three seasons, including the past two as head coach. He had a 15-7 record in his two seasons.

"It was difficult to say goodbye today because you get attached to kids and people that you work with,” Estes said.
