Eagleville's head coach Travis Holland questions a call during a game against Moore County on Monday, April 2, 2018, at Eagleville.

After a video surfaced of Eagleville High School baseball coach Travis Holland rubbing the back of a teenage girl, Rutherford County Schools suspended him without pay.

In the video, Holland, a history teacher, can be seen slowly rubbing his hand up and down the back of a female student. County schools spokesman James Evans said they were made aware of the video Tuesday and did an initial review after notifying the student's parents. Holland wasn't immediately suspended after the video surfaced, and he coached at Spring Fling on Wednesday.

Both local law enforcement and the Department of Children's Services reviewed the video but declined to investigate further, Evans said.

Evans said Holland wasn't immediately suspended because the school district was waiting to see what direction law enforcement and DCS would take. After both agencies decided not pursue a further investigation, RCS suspended him to conduct an independent investigation.

The district's investigation is ongoing, and Holland is suspended pending the investigation's outcome.

On Wednesday, Holland was ejected from a game during Spring Fling. Eagleville lost to Lake County 8-5 in the state tournament.

When USA TODAY Network-Tennessee tried calling Holland, the call went straight to voicemail. He didn't immediately return the message.
