Sheffield has hired Edward Kuykendoll as its next head football coach. Kuykendoll comes to the Knights from Oakhaven where he led the Hawks to a 3-7 record last season.

"I'm excited about it. I'm happy that God has placed this in front of me.," said Kuyendoll. "We will attack the process with passion and pride."

The Knights finished 2-28 over the past three seasons with both wins coming against MLK Prep. Sheffield opened last season with a 22-6 loss to Kuykendoll's Oakhaven team.

"Knowing that they haven't won in a while, I'm excited to be able to build from the ground up," said Kuykendoll.

Before becoming head coach at Oakhaven, Kuykendoll was defensive coordinator there from 2015-17. He also was an assistant at Fairley from 2009-13.
