Missouri freshman Akira Levy, who announced Saturday she was entering the transfer portal, plans on taking an official visit to Tennessee this week.

Upperman girls basketball coach Dana McWilliams, who coached Levy in high school, confirmed to the USA Today Network that Levy will be in Knoxville on a visit on Thursday and Friday.

Levy played in 28 games at Missouri before her season ended when she tore the anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in her right knee Feb. 24 against Auburn.

She averaged 4.8 points and 2.1 assists in 15.8 minutes a game. Per NCAA rules, Levy will have to sit out the 2019-20 season due to NCAA transfer rules unless she is approved for a waiver.

Levy could choose to return to Missouri.

Levy, a 5-foot-8 point guard, averaged 25.3 points, 9.4 assists, 6.3 rebounds and 4.8 steals her senior year when she led Upperman to its second straight Class AA state championship. Levy was a two-time Class AA Miss Basketball.

Missouri freshman Akira Levy, a former Upperman standout and two-time Miss Basketball, has entered the transfer portal and plans on visiting Tennessee later this week.

Levy originally signed with Western Kentucky her senior year but chose to reopen her recruitment after former Lady Hilltoppers coach Michelle Clark-Heard left for Cincinnati. Greg Collins, a WKU assistant, replaced Clark-Heard.

Kellie Harper, a former White County standout, is entering her first season as the coach of the Lady Vols.
