Emory Lanier, the son of former Tennessee assistant Rob Lanier, will not attend Webb for his senior season, he announced via Twitter.

Lanier, a Davidson commitment, originally intended to play at Webb his senior season after his father was named Georgia State’s new basketball coach in April. But because of his family situation, he said in his Twitter post, he will have to move to Atlanta. He will attend Woodward Academy.

"I've had a great experience at Webb the past three years," Lanier wrote in his post. "I'm also very proud of the basketball program and how we've help build it the past couple years."

Lanier averaged 12 points, five rebounds and two steals last season for the Spartans, leading them to their first state championship. Webb beat Tipton-Rosemark in the Division II-A state championship.
