Three people, including a 15-year-old, were arrested Thursday after several fights broke out during jamboree football games being played at East High School in Nashville.

When officers working the game responded to fighting, the sound of gunfire was heard according to Nashville police.

More than 20 police units responded to the game to restore and maintain calm.

The 15-year-old is charged with unlawful gun possession on school property and disorderly conduct.  He was seen fleeing from the crowd with a pistol, police said.

Jamari Aikens

The youth ran behind a vehicle and placed something under it as officers headed toward him.  He was taken into custody and a 9 millimeter semi-automatic pistol loaded with 16 rounds was recovered from underneath the car, police said.

It has not been determined whether the 15-year-old fired the shots.

The 15-year-old was arrested for auto theft and unlawful gun possession in February 2019, according to police. He was also charged with attempted carjacking, vehicle theft and evading arrest in December 2018.
