A game day tweet, referencing Friday's high school football game between the Independence High Eagles and Christ Presbyterian Lions, has been taken down.

The Twitter account itself, @indy_nation, has also been taken down.

Williamson County Schools Communications Director Carol Birdsong verified that the tweet did not originate from the district and that the account was not run by any district personnel or district-related student group.

"The tweet was inappropriate. It has been removed," WCS Communications Director Carol Birdsong said.

Birdsong said the district could not name the student(s) involved.

"We cannot release information about student discipline," she said.

The tweet read as follows:

"Hey there Indy Nation ITS GAMEDAY!! JERSEY OUT @CPA @7, BE THERE!! !! I BELIEVE DURING BREAK AFTER 2ND PERIOD!!"

The photo shows five scantily clad muscular men, all dressed uniformly in white T-shirts and white boxer-type underwear, standing behind a couch. Each of their faces are covered with an Independence High Eagle symbol.  On the couch, a teenage-looking girl sits alone in a pink T-shirt with a gray unicorn image, with her face covered by a CPA Lion emblem.

The tweet garnered 19 likes and three retweets, before being removed.

The Twitter account showed it had posted 2,911 tweets before it was removed.

Birdsong said no district Twitter accounts are run by students.

To start a district-related Twitter account, an employee must go through a certification process with the WCS district, Birdsong said.

"We do not have student Twitter accounts. They are only run by employees," she said.

IHS is scheduled to play CPA Friday night at 7 p.m. at CPA.
