The Huntland High School Lady Hornets beat the Forrest High School Lady Rockets 7-3 at home Thursday for their fourth win of the season.
A majority of the scoring was done in the second half as the Lady Hornets pulled ahead early and maintained their advantage.
Huntland head soccer coach Scott Worthington said his players got off to a bit of a slow start, but they began to play better as the game went on.
The Lady Hornets scored twice in the first half, and they took a 2-0 lead into the halftime break.
The Lady Hornets added three more goals early in the second half to expand their advantage to 5-0.
The Lady Rockets began to make a push later in the second half to cut into the lead, but the Lady Hornets added a few more goals to stay in front as they won by four.
Camille Bland led the Lady Hornets with two goals for the game. The goals were also her first two of the season.
Katherine Clark, Kathryn Reed, Natalie Stovall, Riley Hazard and Ryley Brannon added one goal each for Huntland.
With the win, the Lady Hornets improved to 4-1 on the season and 3-1 in district play.
They will next play Monday at home against Community High School. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
