The Franklin County Rebelettes lost to the Coffee County Central Lady Raiders in straight sets on the road Thursday for their seventh loss of the season.
Franklin County head volleyball coach Alveda Gaines said it was the closest her team had every played the Lady Raiders, but it was not enough to pick up the win.
The first set went decisively in favor of the Lady Raiders as they beat the Rebelettes by a margin of 25-14.
The Rebelettes would be much more competitive in the second set as they kept the series close before taking a 25-20 loss.
The Lady Raiders would wrap up the match after winning the third set by a score of 25-16.
Gaines said that her players are continuing to make improvements on the court, but they still need to step up their game a little bit more to get a win.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 0-7 on the season and 0-3 in district play.
They will next play Saturday in a tournament at Kenwood High School. The schedule for the tournament had not been announced on the time of writing.
