Week 4 brought a dominant performance from Lincoln Pare, who rushed for 255 yards and three touchdowns in Houston's 36-20 win over ECS. Whitehaven fell 17-14 on the road to Brentwood Academy after leading 14-0. MUS rolled to a 50-6 win over Melrose.

Here are five takeaways from the action.

Briarcrest beats MBA for the first time

Briarcrest improved to 4-0 with a 24-21 win over Montgomery Bell Academy. Ole Miss commitment Jabari Small ran for 176 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries. According to the team's Twitter account it was Briarcrest's first win over MBA. The Big Red eliminated Briarcrest in the second round of last year's DII-AAA playoffs.

Cordova beats Lausanne

Lausanne's 41-22 loss to Cordova was its first against a Memphis-area team since 2015. The Lynx fell to Mayfield (Ky.) in Week 1 and lost to CPA in last year's DII-AA semifinals. Before that, the Lynx had back-to-back undefeated seasons and won a pair of state titles. The last local team to beat Lausanne before Cordova was St. Geroge's in the 2015 playoffs.

White Station matches last year's win total

Last year, White Station finished 3-8. This year, under first-year coach Reid Yarbrough, the Spartans are off to a 3-1 start. White Station earned a 13-7 comeback win on the road against Christian Brothers with touchdowns from Brandon Harris and Dwight Holmes III.

Freedom Prep defense still perfect

Freedom Prep secured its fourth consecutive shutout with a 44-0 road win over Harding Academy. Isaiah Conner and Jadeveon Perkins combined for nine tackles and five tackles for loss. Courtney Tate rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns. The Eagles have outscored opponents 173-0.
