Former White Station, ECS coach Terry Tippett inducted in to BCAT Hall of Fame

Longtime high school basketball coach Terry Tippett has been inducted in to the Basketball Coaches Association of Tennessee Hall of Fame, the organization announced. 

Tippett won six state championships, including three in a row with White Station from 2002-04. His most recent title came in 2010 with ECS. He also coached at Collierville, Trezevant and Dyer County.

Tippett retired in 2018 with 902 career wins. He has coached a pair of Mr. Basketball winners in Robert O'Kelly and Earnest Shelton. 

Tippett, a 2005 TSSAA Hall of Fame inductee, was the 2019 Commercial Appeal Sports Awards Lifetime Achievement Award winner and attended the event. 

Joining Tippett in the hall class is Jackson County girls basketball coach Jim Brown, who won seven state titles over 27 years and has 627 career wins.
