Pigeon Forge football coach Adrian Watson resigned Tuesday after three seasons, principal Ben Clabo said in an email.

Pigeon Forge finished 1-9 this season and did not make the Class 3A playoffs. The Tigers did not make the playoffs in any of Watson's three seasons and finished with a 7-23 record.

Watson was hired in January 2017 and this was his first head coaching job. Pigeon Forge last made playoffs in 2016.

"I appreciate his hard work and dedication to our football program and our student-athletes," Clabo said in an emailed statement. "During his time as our coach, he was worked tirelessly to not only develop our students as players but as young men as well."

Watson could not be immediately reached for comment.
