CHURCH HILL — Science Hill scored 76 points through three quarters and closed out the Big 7 Conference regular- season boys basketball title with an 86-45 win over Volunteer on Tuesday night.
Science Hill opened hot and never hit an extended cool period. The Hilltoppers led 25-9 at the end of the first quarter and tacked on a 31-spot in a whirlwind second period for a 56-26 halftime advantage.
Jordan McLoyd had 18 points, four assists and two steals for Science Hill (27-3, 10-2).
"It was the last regular season game and we just wanted to come out and play unselfish, and that’s what happened,” McLoyd said. “If we play like that every game, we can be unstoppable. If we play unselfish every game, it’s going to be hard to contend with us.”
Griffin Ballard totaled 12 points, six assists and three steals and Hunter Phillips tallied eight points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals for the Hilltoppers. Jake Matherne added 11 points and six rebounds, Amare Redd chipped in with 11 points and Keynan Cutlip totaled 10 points and four assists.
Leading the way for the Falcons (7-21, 0-11) was Dakota Hicks. He often found success at the end of Volunteer’s fast-break opportunities or when they beat Science Hill’s full-court press. Hicks finished with 15 points and added to his school record for charges taken in a season.
SULLIVAN NORTH 66, TRI-CITIES CHRISTIAN 63
BLOUNTVILLE — The Golden Raiders rallied in the fourth quarter to take the road win.
Trey Williams posted a 23-point performance and Bryant Herron came through with 18 to lead Sullivan North.
Gavyn Etter hit six 3-pointers and scored 28 points to lead Tri-Cities Christian. John Gewelke had 10 points and five steals and Adam Pigeon grabbed 10 rebounds.
DAVID CROCKETT 52, TENNESSEE HIGH 48
JONESBOROUGH — The Pioneers held off the Vikings and claimed third place in the Big 7 and the No. 3 seed for the District 1-AAA tournament.
Mack Hensley and Donta Hackler led the Pioneers with 14 points apiece. Eric Dunbar added 10.
Tennessee High’s Nolan Wishon had a big night with 24 points, Blake Fauver added 11 and Cole McBrayer had eight.
WISE CENTRAL 59, ABINGDON 53
ABINGDON — Elijah Hayes dropped in 18 points to lift the Warriors over the Falcons in a Mountain 7 District matchup.
Isaiah McAmis helped out with 15 points and Jordan Bishop had 13 in the win.
Jake Thacker scored 14 points, Chase Hungate 13 and River Carter 10 for Abingdon.
UNION 65, JOHN BATTLE 43
BIG STONE GAP — Alex Rasnick scored 19 points to lead the Bears to a blowout win at home over John Battle in a Mountain 7 District contest. Bradley Bunch chipped in with 16 points, Malachi Jenkins aided with 14 points and Sean Cusano finished with 11 points.
Reed Samuel scored over 75 percent of the Trojans’ points with 33 points.
TWIN SPRINGS 64, RYE COVE 46
NICKELSVILLE — After nursing just a three-point lead, 27-24, at halftime, Tyler Webb’s Titans pulled away over the final two quarters for the rivalry win. Host Twin Springs outscored Rye Cove 22-9 in the third quarter and never let the Eagles climb back into the Cumberland District game.
Three players finished in double figures for the Cove. Zach Baker led the way with 15 points, Matthew Rhoton added 13 and Mason Hardin chipped in 12.

SULLIVAN NORTH 62, TRI-CITIES CHRISTIAN 14
BLOUNTVILLE — The Lady Raiders outscored the Lady Eagles 31-7 in each half for the blowout win.
Maddy Winters paced North with 19 points. Alyssa Barker scored 11, Kierra Kotee 10 and Sahara Bates nine.
“We played the best game we have all season,” North coach Christopher Salley said. “Sahara Bates is our only senior, but she’s had such a great year. She has been consistent, hard- working, averaging double figures in rebounds. She and Maddy Winters both had great games tonight.”
Lydia Smith was Tri-Cities Christian’s leading scorer with five points.
TENNESSEE HIGH 49, DAVID CROCKETT 46
JONESBOROUGH — Kenzie Nickels had 19 points and eight rebounds and Riley Fritts finished with 10 points, four assists and three steals in the Lady Vikings’ win.
Halle Scott paced the Lady Pioneers with 12 points and Alyssa Suits added nine.
Tori Ryan grabbed 11 rebounds for Tennessee High.
RIDGEVIEW 65, LEE HIGH 24
CLINTWOOD — Cassidy Thomas scored 23 points in the Wolfpack’s dominating Mountain 7 win.
Hailey Sutherland had a double-double of 14 points and 13 rebounds — also blocking five shots and — Brooke Frazier tallied 13 points, six steals and six assists.
Drew Cox led the Lady Generals with eight points.

BIG STONE GAP — Emili Brooks put up 17 points, Heather Lipps and Jada Smith each scored 15 and the Lady Bears rolled to the Mountain 7 win at home.
Bethany Smith was the leading scorer for the Lady Trojans with seven points.
ABINGDON 82, WISE CENTRAL 46
ABINGDON — Peyton Carter knocked down six 3-pointers and finished with 24 points in the Lady Falcons’ Mountain 7 win.
Emily Breeding and Cassie Farley added 12 apiece and Morgan Blevins chipped in with 11
Hannah Carter was the top scorer for Wise Central with 11 points, and Hannah McAmis finished with nine.
TWIN SPRINGS 57, RYE COVE 30
CLINCHPORT — Emaleigh Powers scored 23 points and the Lady Titans blew past their Scott County rivals.
Erin Larkin added 11 points and Belle Austin chipped in 10 in the Cumberland District win.
Lexi Bledsoe was the top scorer for the Lady Eagles with 11 points.
