Harding Academy hires Brentwood Academy assistant Cody Nelson as head coach

Cody Nelson has been hired as head football coach at Harding Academy

Harding Academy has hired Cody Nelson as head football coach, the school announced Friday in a release.

“My wife, Shelby, and I are extremely excited about this opportunity and are grateful to the search committee for trusting us with this responsibility.”, said Nelson. “We look forward to being a part of the Harding community and embracing all the things that make Harding special and unique.”

Nelson spent the past four years as an assistant at Brentwood Academy. The Eagles won a pair of DII-AAA state titles while was there. 

 “Cody Nelson is an exceptional young coach. He loves young people and relishes the opportunity to minister through the vehicle of coaching," Brentwood Academy athletic director Cody White said. 

"He has an extremely strong work ethic which, blended with a bright mind, will ensure his success as a football coach. He will be missed by Brentwood Academy, and we wish him the best as he continues his coaching ministry at Harding.”
