While weight rooms and schools are closed, Knoxville area high school athletes are finding creative ways to work out at home.

Per Gov. Bill Lee's recommendation, Knox County Schools will remain closed through at least April 24 amid concerns about COVID-19. Teams are not allowed to meet, and spring sports were postponed until at least March 31.

That means athletes in the area are working to stay in game shape at home.

Greeneville junior quarterback Drew Gregg posted a video on Twitter of him doing squats and dead lifts with hay bales.

"Farm way's the best way," he wrote.

The Alcoa football team posted a home workout regimen for its players to follow.

Grace Christian football's Garrett Staley, a junior defensive tackle, might have found the most interesting ways to work on his strength and explosiveness. Those include pushing a truck and squatting a human.

Staley's teammate, freshman running back Kameron Bates, used a hay bale to simulate a box jump exercise.

He also pulled a friend on a sled.

Central offensive lineman Gabe Neubert used his sister for the bench press.

Lakeway girls basketball guard Madi Hawk worked on her ball-handling skills in her garage.

Carter softball's Ava Brooks used a tee to work on her swing in her own garage.
