Cane Ridge graduate Adonai Mitchell said it best when announcing his new college football destination on Sunday.

"It's Georgia," said Mitchell, who is the No. 11 college football prospect in Tennessee for the Class of 2021, according to the 247Sports Composite. "That's basically the best way to explain it."

Mitchell previously committed to Ole Miss on April 14, picking the Rebels over Georgia, Auburn, LSU and Virginia Tech. However, Mitchell told The Tennessean he had decommitted from the Rebels on May 15.

Mitchell, a three-star recruit, is the No. 61 wide receiver in the country.

"You have to have a winning mind-set that you know that they're going to be a playoff contender (when you go to Georgia)," Mitchell said. "You know you aren't settling for less."

Mitchell, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound high school transplant from Texas, had 28 catches for 417 yards with five touchdowns in his lone season at Cane Ridge. That came after starting the season at quarterback because of an injury to Xayvion Clemmons, who missed the first two weeks of the season.

Mitchell's family moved to Nashville from Texas prior to the 2019-20 school year. Mitchell graduated in the spring and is back in Texas working out. He will sign a letter of intent in December.

"This is big for our program, too," Cane Ridge coach Eddie Woods said. "I think we had one FCS signee when I got here in the school's history and now we're getting all of this other stuff going on.

"That was one of one of my main goals, was to build the recruiting part of the program. I think we've taken a step forward."

Mitchell will be the 10th-highest ranked athlete of the Bulldogs' 11 commitments for Georgia's 2021 class and lone wide receiver.

Mitchell's decommitment from Ole Miss leaves it with just five commitments for the Class of 2021. That includes one from Nashville in Pearl-Cohn cornerback Kyndrich Breedlove
