The Grace Christian Academy community is reeling after the sudden loss of rising senior Grant Solomon.

Solomon, who just turned 18 last month, died in a car accident Monday morning. Details surrounding the incident are still unknown as the family and community tries to overcome the tragedy.

The school near Leiper's Fork posted to Twitter asking for prayers.

“Please be praying for the Solomon family and our GCA family as we mourn the loss of a beloved student and friend, and rising senior Grant Solomon,” the school said.

Solomon’s Rawlings SE Mad Mavs summer baseball team also shared on social media Monday afternoon about Solomon, a right-handed pitcher and infielder for the club.

“Today we’re heartbroken as we deal with the shock of the passing of our teammate and our most fierce competitor,” the team shared. “His last words to us yesterday were, ‘keep winning!’

“We will Grant! Not just in baseball but in life in your honor! We love you #30!”

The area baseball community continues to show support for the family.

This is a developing story and will be updated as information becomes available.
