Week 4 takeaways: Bartlett makes goal-line stand to upset top-ranked Christian Brothers

Bartlett, which was blown out by CPA in last week's opener, picked up its first win in dramatic fashion. Christian Brothers' Dallan Hayden rushed for 206 yards and three touchdowns but couldn't punch in a fourth as the Panthers stopped him on fourth-and-goal from the 2 with 22 seconds remaining to hang on for the 22-19 win. Bartlett travels to Southaven next week. 

Olive Branch beats defending Class 4A champs

The Conquistadors pulled off a 24-23 victory over defending MHSAA Class 4A champion Corinth. Khameron Ford, who converted to fullback after playing linebacker last year, scored the go-ahead touchdown and two-point conversion. LSU tight end commitment Jalen Shead missed the game due to injury. 

Big game for Walter Nolen

The nation's No. 1 college football recruit for the Class of 2022 had 2.5 sacks and rushed for a 1-yard touchdown as SBA shut out FACS 36-0. It was the fourth consecutive shutout loss for FACS, which has been outscored 170-0. St, Benedict opens region play on the road against Briarcrest next week. 

ECS struggles without Pennington, Greenwood

Defending DII-AA state champion Evangelical Christian School lost at home for the first time since 2017. Clemson offensive line commitment Dietrick Pennington and running back Jaylen Greenwood were out with injuries. Houston pounded the Eagles 48-10 as Ben Stegall rushed for five touchdowns. The Mustangs were the only team to beat ECS last year. 

Briarcrest falls to MBA despite Dallas' 5 TDs 

Briarcrest quarterback Michael Dallas threw for 362 yards and four touchdowns. He also rushed for 67 yards and a touchdown. But the Saints dropped their second straight region game as Montgomery Bell Academy prevailed 42-35 Friday night. Jerrod Gentry and Max Carroll each had over 100 yards receiving.
