Franklin County's Hadley Gardner tosses the ball up for a serve during a match Wednesday against Tullahoma High School. The Rebelettes would lose the match in four sets.
The Franklin County volleyball Rebelettes lost to the Tullahoma Wildcats in four sets at home Wednesday for their seventh loss of the season.
The Rebelettes won the opening set of the match before dropping the next three to take the loss against the rival Lady Wildcats.
The Rebelettes got off to a strong start as they pulled away to take a 21-14 lead late in the first set and held off a late rally to get a 25-21 win.
However, the Lady Wildcats dominated the second set, claiming a 25-15 victory in the frame to tie the match at 1-1.
The third set seemed to be going in a similar direction to the second with the Lady Wildcats holding a 19-11 edge at one point, but the Rebelettes went on a 12-4 run to tie the score at 23-23.
The rally would not result in a victory for the set, however, as the Lady Wildcats ultimately claimed a 27-25 win to take a 2-1 lead in the match.
The fourth and final set would come down to the wire with the Rebelettes taking a 25-22 defeat in the end to close out the match.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 3-7 on the season.
They will next play Thursday at Shelbyville Central High School. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
